Sue is a friend of mine from my time at Bethany. She’s a college professor now and contacted me because she wanted to have some headshots taken for her professional website. Aside from being super excited to catch up with Sue, I also really liked that she wanted an interesting, different location for her photos. While I understand the purpose of a headshot is mainly for identification purposes, I’m not really a fan of the standard, boring corporate headshot. Why not show a little personality? So I was happy that Sue wanted a more urban setting for her photos. We met up early on a weekend morning and wandered around Georgetown, which is one of my favorite neighborhoods in DC. If you walk away from the main shopping and restaurant area, you can discover all kinds of great photo backdrops in the neighborhoods. (And, of course, all that walking works up an appetite, so I highly recommend stopping at Baked and Wired for a cupcake to refuel.) I hope you enjoy these images from Sue’s session!
